Is Your State Deregulated?

Most people realize that one of the best ways to save money in their household budget is to reduce the cost of their energy costs. Unfortunately, most people think the only way to do this is to use less, which of course, is a great way to save money and help the environment. As a father of five, I understand this option is not always possible.

There is another FREE and EASY way to save money on your energy bills!

Thirty out of 50 states offer residents some choice when it comes to energy companies. Switching companies is easy and free and allows for competitive rates for you, the customer.

Nine U.S. states are completely deregulated:

  • Texas (the best state for this issue)
  • Connecticut
  • Illinois
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
States that are technically deregulated, but don't have enough competition to offer better choices:
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Delaware
  • Michigan
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New Mexico
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Rhode Island
  • Virginia
States offer some choice for gas services:
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Missouri
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming
What if your state isn’t deregulated?
You won’t be able to switch electric or gas companies yet. But as more states see success with energy deregulation, the trend is likely to spread to your state, too.
